4TH MODULE session 4

What are the effects of using a virtual classroom in a regular face to face English class?
That was the first presentation in this chance. I`ve learned the importance that using a virtual classroom might bring to teachers and students. In my opinion , one of the biggest advantages is the feasibility of being in contact with students , as well as , the fast and availability of documents and visual aids that we as teachers can upload and share with our class. Second , the time is one of the biggest challenges when teaching a class since there`s no enough time to develop certain information or activities at the time of the class. In the other hand , a virtual class will save you time when there is no chance to share information due to the schedule.





There are also many platforms to have such contact with our students such as , moodle , schoology ,and even blogs or forums. Internet availability gives us the chance to take advantage of such excellent tools . All the sites mentioned above let students have interaction among them even in a virtual enviornment. Students are challenged with certain quizzes made by the teacher ,and that have a certain percent to a final grade as a simple evaluation.

SCHOOLOGY : 

The lack of confidence in the speaking language a study with students of the English major from Universidad Tecnológica.

This topic was the last one in this session , According to what the classmate said during the presentation , the lack of confidence has to do with a psychological issue . In my opinion , it does not have to do with it , I do believe that it is more related to the cultural environment in our country . If you get to analyze how our teachers taught English when we were in High school , you `ll notice that we were just repeating , copying endless list of verbs , memorizing which none of those can be considered as real learning . We were shaped to be just passive learners , and I`m not trying to justify this issue , but to find the root of the problem of course that does not mean that we cannot change that . In the other hand , I think this is a very interesting topic to dig out.

In this session , We took a look at    THE EFFECTS OF PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT IN THE CLASSROOM IN BASIC ENGLISH STUDENTS  Within this topic , I can tell that classroom environment does influence in students since this has to do with ilumination , temperature , desks arrangement . If these factors are not contemplated before getting students into an uncomfortable environment they might probably be affected in their concentration. I do believe that an innaproriate environment influences in our learning process when intercating in the classroom since sometimes we tend to feel sleepy when the classroom tempetature is too hot . The same happens where the room is too cold we start shaking to a point where we get hypothermia , and consequently we do not pay attention to what is going on  around us. Session 2 :   👽 Today , our instructor showed us some of the comments regarding classmates´expectations about the subject. Mine was not there ,but I hope it is taken into account. The class was focused on a presentation about key information of Task based Instruction . I took a look at some of the elements that make learners competent ,and it is incredible how many students see themselves as worthless . Everyone has a capacity which is basically the point from which each student starts , and of course it has to be motivated and updated in order to reach some of the desired competencies. Furthermore , it is quite important to provide the learner a certain situation in whhich he is able to perform any action to solve it.  👽 In addition , I learnt that having a competency assures that I´m capable of doing or solving a task wherever is needed , and that success is based in a 100% of being successful in performing such a tassk.
