Hello dear readers , today I would like to share some info that I found useful in the session .
First , we have the listening strategies: 

Cognitive strategies :  these are used as mental activities that have to deal with recalling information like listening to a story . what students do is to work memory. 

.Meta cognitive strategies :  This includes monitoring . checking , verifying one`s understanding.

Socioaffective strategies :  this happens when the listening is two ways , and the meaning can be negotiated between the speaker and the listener. 


Listening is defined as an ability to get and to receive information while interpreting it in a message. It is the key of accurate communication if in any case comunication breaks down then the sender can get frustrated or irritated. 

There is also two main concepts listening comprehension and as acquisition . 
COMPREHENSION :  The action of capability of understanding something 
ACQUISITION : is is the development of a new skill , practice , or way of performing things. 


I have read some info related to what kind of language we should use when teaching listening , and it stated that we must use a variety of dialects in English : American and British. We must also think of playing a variety of ranges of listenings from formal speech to an informal one. 


The basic framework on which you can construct a listening lesson can be divided into three main stages.

  • Pre-listening, during which we help our students prepare to listen.
  • While listening, during which we help to focus their attention on the listening text and guide the development of their understanding of it.
  • Post-listening, during which we help our students integrate what they have learnt from the text into their existing knowledge basic framework.
